The name “oolong,” meaning “black dragon” in Chinese, comes from the tea’s dark, curled leaves that gracefully unfurl when steeped. This in-between oxidation process creates a distinct flavor profile, often balancing floral and fruity notes with a touch of depth and complexity, varying by the specific variety and how it’s processed.
